Energy bill review

A monthly payment is only one part of your energy bill. Look at what you use, what each unit costs and whether your readings are accurate before weighing up an alternative.

Separate payments from consumption

A direct debit spreads the expected cost of your energy over the year. It is not a fixed price for unlimited energy. Compare annual usage in kWh, the unit rates and standing charges, rather than two monthly payment quotes alone.

Check your readings and tariff

Look for estimated readings on your statement and compare them with your meter. Note whether your tariff is fixed or variable, when it ends and whether an exit fee applies. A fixed rate does not mean your total bill stays the same if usage changes.

Bring the relevant information

Have a recent bill, your annual usage if available, your payment method and your contract end date to hand. Never post account numbers or bank details through this website.

Frequently asked questions

Will this identify a guaranteed saving?

No. A review helps explain your bill and any options available through Bill Review Partners; it does not compare the whole market or guarantee savings.

Can I review just electricity?

You can select Energy whether your home has electricity only or gas and electricity. Any alternative depends on your supply, eligibility and circumstances.

What if I am struggling to pay?

Contact your current supplier promptly to discuss support and payment options. General budgeting information is not a substitute for debt advice; Citizens Advice can help.
